Ramona to face obstruction of justice raps

MANILA, Philippines – Task Force Ramgen is filing an obstruction of justice case against Ram Revilla’s sister Ramona Bautista, according to Task Force Chief Inspector Enrique Sy.

Sy said the charge is based on the alleged false and inconsistent testimonies given by Ramona during an inquiry at the Las Piñas City police office the night of the murder.

Ramona "Mara" Bautista
Ramona claimed in that inquiry that she was abducted by the suspects and was dropped off along Alabang-Zapote road. However, Ramona later retracted that statement, saying she was picked up by her other siblings.

Sy said they are carefully studying which court they would need to file the case since the crime happened in Parañaque but Ramona's statements were made in Las Piñas City.

Ramona and her younger brother, Ramon Joseph, have been tagged by witnesses as the masterminds in the murder of their brother.

Ramon Joseph is currently detained at the Parañaque City Jail. His arraignment is set on November 16.

Ramona, on the other hand, has fled to Turkey. She is given until November 18 to return to the Philippines to file her affidavit.

Three suspects at large

Sy also urged the public to share any information that will lead to the arrest of 3 other suspects identified as Glaiza Vista, Norwin dela Cruz and an alias “Bryan.”

Vista has allegedly sent surrender feelers to authorities.

Sy said those with information about the suspects can call the hotline number at 8262877 or 117.

Sy added that the task force is confident that their case against Michael Nartea and Francis Tolisora will stand because they have a witness that positively identified the suspects.

The Philippine National Police submitted their reply to the counter affidavit of the 2 suspects at the prosecutor’s office Friday afternoon.

The Assistant City Prosecutor Leah Roma has 15 days to issue her decision whether there is probable cause to file murder and frustrated murder charges against Nartea and Tolisora.
