Weather Update: 13 areas in Luzon under Signal Number 1, includes Metro Manila

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATE) – Metro Manila was placed under storm signal number 1 on Wednesday as tropical depression “Ramon” has changed its course. The weather disturbance is now headed for the Mindoro area, the state weather bureau said on Wednesday.

In its latest weather bulletin issued at 5 p.m., PAGASA said the weather disturbance has maintained its strength, packing winds of 55 kilometers (km) per hour.

It was last spotted 70 km southwest of Romblon or at 70 km east-southeast of San Jose, Occidental Mindoro.

Aside from Metro Manila, public storm signal number 1 has been hoisted over the following areas in Luzon and Visayas:

Marinduque
Mindoro Provinces
Romblon
Southern Quezon
Burias Island
Northern Palawan
Calamian Group of Islands
Cavite
Laguna
Batangas
Panay Island
Guimaras Island

Ramon is expected to be 190 km west of Calapan by Thursday, then around 420 km west of Dagupan by Friday as it exits the country.
