STOCKHOLM, Oct 4 (Reuters) - Would you believe the universe is actually expanding?
Never did the discoverers of the expansion work in the universe that they actually believed it was also true until they've found out.
One of the major work for these three laureates they've been through to prove that our universe that we are in is gradually expanding through the observing the blowing up of stars called supernovae. After observing the behavior of supernovae they found out that the universe is expanding at a rate we could've ever imagined.
Laureates who were awarded the 2011 Nobel Prize for Physics are Saul Perlmutter, Brian Schmidt and Adam Riess. They were given $1.45 million or 10 million swedish crowns.
