Camille doesn't understand husband's early death

Actress Camille Prats said she could not understand and had never imagined tragedy will strike her  husband Anthony Linsangan, who died of nasopharyngeal cancer Friday morning, September 23 at St. Luke‘s Medical Center Global City.
“Hindi ko naiintindihan and never ko na-imagine na ganito yung mangyayari. Hindi talaga. Hindi ko talaga naiintindihan even until now... I don't understand,” she said in a taped interview  on “Startalk TX.”

She added, “When I see other people, when I see couples who are my age and they're just starting, I don't understand why I have to lose (Anthony) very early. Hindi ko talaga naiintindihan.”

Camille and Anthony were  first married in Los Angeles, California in 2008. Two years after, they got married at the Santuario de San Antonio in Makati City.

Not possible

According to the “Munting Heredera” star, they found out about Anthony's illness last year.

“We got married mga March of last year. Mga June medyo masakit na yung joints and parang nagkaroon na sya ng lymph nodes so we had that checked,” Camille explained.

She felt that it was “not possible” for Anthony to acquire the disease at such an early age.

“When we found out na it was cancer, syempre parang di ako makapaniwala na we had to go through it. But of course, we had hope. Kaya kami nag-resort to treatments and all those things kasi nga we had hoped na he'd get better,” she said.

Camille added that her husband underwent chemotherapy and radiation treatments right away.

“It came to a point na halos ayaw na nya ituloy. Pero hindi, he did. Tinapos nya,” she said of Anthony's treatments.

Although he was suffering from cancer, Camille said Anthony remained supportive of her career, especially when she got the lead role in the GMA-7 primetime soap opera “Munting Heredera.”

“When I told him about the project, he was very excited for me kasi alam nya na ang tagal ko ng hinintay na magkaroon ng ganun. He knew how important that was to me and he was all-out supporitve,” she shared, adding that her husband would even record every episode of her show.

Camille added, “Itong past few months, dahil in and out na kami sa hospital, ang requirement nya talaga, kailangan ang kwarto nya may flat screen, dala nya yung recorder, tapos he would watch it... Nito na lang bandang huli, nung natutulog na sya palagi na di na sya masyadong nagigising... but he recorded everything, he transferred it to DVD. Talagang ganun sya ka-supporta sa ginagawa ko.”

Always with her

The 26-year-old actress believes  Anthony is “ in a very good state now.”

“Finally, Anthony is not in pain anymore.  The entire year na nagpapagamot sya, he has gone through so much. Hirap na hirap na hirap na hirap na talaga sya. Nung minsan di ko alam kung ang ipagdadasal ko ba, pahabain ko yung buhay nya pero ganito or kunin na lang sya para di sya mahirap. Hindi ko alam kung ano ang hihingi ko. Pero more than that, I was really praying for a miracle that he would get better,” she said.

“Alam ko he's in a very good state now and I know he'll always be with me. Alam kong palagi nya akong sasamahan at palagi rin nyang sasamahan si Nathan (their three-year-old son). Okay na ako dun.”
